Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard for 68.7 billion dollars!
Recently, the maker of Xbox Gaming System “Microsoft” announced to make an entry into one of the largest video games companies to buy the game Publisher Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion this week. It’s the biggest push into gaming and will be the third-largest gaming company by revenue. By acquiring these hit games like Diablo, Overwatch, Call of Duty, and Candy Crush. The deal would play a major part for the Microsoft gaming brand in its battle against Sony’s Play Station.
Microsoft would become a more popular gaming company than Nintendo as per the sources. This deal will help Microsoft to compete with such tech rivals like Meta, in creating such a virtual world to play and work both.
The decision for purchasing Call of Duty will result in increasing game pass subscription service. Microsoft’s Chief Executive Satya Nadella stated that:
“We’re investing deeply in world-class content, community, and the cloud to usher in a new era of gaming that puts players and creators first and makes gaming safe, inclusive, and accessible to all,”
Moreover, it’s a big step towards the gaming world and the metaverse – a virtual world where everyone can play and buy games and other stuff. It would be the biggest tech acquisition in the world’s history if the deal survives scrutiny from US & European regulators. Previously, the Acquisition of EMC had taken when DELL bought it in $60 billion in 2016.
